The Designer

Gail has both a degree in interior design from Harrington Institute of Interior Design and a fine art degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. She gained further knowledge of architecture during her years as a docent for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation which gives her an appreciation of how to blend architecture, fine art and interior design to create a distinctive one of a kind home.

Gail's fondness for travel throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America also influences her designs. She frequently brings back furniture, antiques and art for that special touch to distinguish a client's home.

As a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Gail has contributed her time and creative talents to Oak Park/River Forest Infant Welfare Society showcase houses, serving as a designer and design chairperson over the years. Her community contributions also include serving as a docent for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and volunteering for the Oak Park Historic Preservation Walk.

One of Gail's most notable designs is an award winning Home Theater featured in Electronic House Magazine. This impressive design was the result of extensive research in the Art Deco era and showcased unique lighting, specialized paint finishes and beautiful architectural detailing along with some creative uses of solid surfaces materials.

The Cheney Mansion is an historic landmark in Oak Park. The Living Room of the Mansion showcased Gail's talents as one of Chicago's best interior designers. This involved a complex space planning challenge. Gail transformed the very large room by dividing the room into several distinctive areas, each with its own unique sophistication and luxury. She unified the space by selecting a large area rug selected for its subtle detailing. The neutral pallet enhanced the historical architectural highlighting including the home's magnificent ceiling.
